Main St Parent Newsletter 02/26/26

Hello Main Street Families,

On Friday last week we held our first school assembly of the 2026 calendar year, and as always, it was awesome to see all our students and staff in one place…we are Main Street!  At the assembly we celebrated kindness and kind acts, represented by paper chains of kind acts that our students have shown and then linked together.  The “Paper Chains of Kindness” will all be linked together and displayed outside the MU/Cafeteria on Monday.  The theme of emphasis for February is “cooperation” and we’ll be highlighting cooperative students throughout the month!

At the assembly we selected three students from the 89 students who attended school everyday in January.  The randomly selected three students will receive a gift card to the “Ugly Mug” in Soquel.  At the end of February, at our next assembly, we’ll select three more students who will have attended school  everyday for the month of Feb.

Parent conferences are being held this next week (February 2-6).  Though not all families have been contacted for a conference, any family that would like to have a conference can request one; simply contact your child’s teacher.  During conference week students leave at the following times:

TK/K - 11:30 AM       1st/2nd/3rd - 11:50 AM        4th/5th - 12:00 noon

FOMS is organizing Main Street's Community Night at the SC Warriors game on March 8th. Reserve your spot BEFORE Feb. 8th to guarantee seating with Main Street families! https://www.gofevo.com/event/Mainstreet50

Another opportunity to see the Warriors is through the Santa Cruz County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) who are partnering with the Warriors and holding a disability awareness night on March 27th. See this link for more information.

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

Hola familias de Main Street,

El viernes pasado celebramos nuestra primera asamblea escolar del año 2026 y, como siempre, fue fantástico ver a todos nuestros estudiantes y personal reunidos en un solo lugar: ¡somos Main Street! En la asamblea, celebramos la amabilidad y las acciones de bondad, representadas por cadenas de papel con actos de bondad que nuestros estudiantes mostraron y unieron. Las "Cadenas de Papel de la Amabilidad" se unirán y exhibirán afuera de la cafetería/MU el lunes. El tema principal de febrero es la "cooperación" y destacaremos a los estudiantes cooperativos durante todo el mes.

En la asamblea, seleccionamos a tres estudiantes de los 89 que asistieron a la escuela todos los días en enero. Los tres estudiantes seleccionados al azar recibirán una tarjeta de regalo para el "Ugly Mug" de Soquel. A finales de febrero, en nuestra próxima asamblea, seleccionaremos a tres estudiantes más que hayan asistido a la escuela todos los días durante el mes de febrero.

Las conferencias de padres se llevarán a cabo la próxima semana (del 2 al 6 de febrero). Aunque no se ha contactado a todas las familias para una conferencia, cualquier familia que desee asistir puede solicitarla; simplemente comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo.Durante la semana de conferencias los estudiantes salen en los siguientes horarios:

Otra oportunidad de ver a los Warriors es a través del SELPA del condado de Santa Cruz (Área del Plan Local de Educación Especial) que se están asociando con Warriors y celebrando una noche de concientización sobre la discapacidad el 27 de marzo. Vea este enlace para más información.

Gracias por enviarnos a sus alumnos a diario. Cuanto más tiempo esté su hijo en la escuela, más aprenderá. Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí. Los estudiantes que completan el estudio independiente a corto plazo reciben crédito de asistencia.
