Main St Parent Newsletter 5/26/26

Hello Main Street Families,

Though it might be hard to believe that the school year is at an end, we have reached the last week (and partial one at that) of the 2025/26 school year! 

For some families this is the end of your Main Street journey, and I wish you and your student continued success in the middle school years.  Many of you will be back next year and though I won’t be here, Main Street Elementary will continue serving you and your family in the 2026/27 school year!

On Wednesday, May 27th, from 9:30-11:20 AM, we’ll be holding our annual Field Day activities.  Parents/families are always welcome, please connect with your child’s teacher if you are able to volunteer.

We will say goodbye to our 5th grade students at the Promotion Ceremony that is being held on campus, on Thursday, May 28th, from 9:00 -10:00 AM.  This is also the last day of school for all students and it is a minimum day…students leave at the same time as they do on Fridays.

If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form.

If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.  

In closing, my journey in this district began in August 1988, and this has been my 38th year in education.  This has been my second two year spell at Main Street and I am thankful for the support of staff, students and families.  I have very much enjoyed my last two years here and I appreciate the support you have shown! 

I hope your last week of school is a good one and that your summer is a great one!

Hola familias de Main Street,

Aunque parezca difícil de creer, ¡el curso escolar está llegando a su fin! Hemos llegado a la última semana (y además, parcial) del curso escolar 2025/26.

Para algunas familias, este es el final de su etapa en Main Street, y les deseo a ustedes y a sus hijos mucho éxito en la escuela secundaria. Muchos de ustedes regresarán el próximo año y, aunque yo no estaré aquí, la Escuela Primaria Main Street seguirá brindándoles apoyo a ustedes y a sus familias durante el ciclo escolar 2026/27.

El miércoles 27 de mayo, de 9:30 a 11:20 a. m., celebraremos nuestra jornada deportiva anual. Los padres y familiares son siempre bienvenidos; si desean colaborar como voluntarios, comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo/a.

Nos despediremos de nuestros alumnos de quinto grado en la ceremonia de graduación que se llevará a cabo en el campus, el jueves 28 de mayo, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana.Este es también el último día de clases para todos los estudiantes y es un día de jornada reducida... los estudiantes se van a la misma hora que los viernes.

Si su estudiante no asistirá a Main Street el próximo año (y creemos que sí lo hará), por favor avise a la oficina y complete también esta forma.

Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

Para concluir, mi trayectoria en este distrito comenzó en agosto de 1988, y este ha sido mi trigésimo octavo año en la educación. Este ha sido mi segundo período de dos años en Main Street y agradezco el apoyo del personal, los estudiantes y las familias. ¡He disfrutado mucho estos dos últimos años aquí y aprecio el apoyo que me han brindado!

28/5/26: Ceremonia de graduación de quinto grado, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana.
