Hello Main Street Families,

Here is a Heron Hustle Update from FOMS:

Friday’s event was a huge success - so much camaraderie and enthusiasm! FOMS is incredibly proud of our school community. So far, we’ve raised $24,348 - amazing! But we're not done yet - fundraising remains open through THIS Friday, and we're so close to our next milestone. If we reach $30,000, our school will unlock a FREE Glow-in-the-Dark Dance Party (a huge hit last year!). Let's keep the momentum going!

A big thank you to our Friends of Main Street and all families who attended the Heron Hustle, and to all our students for their efforts.  This is one of my favorite fundraisers, and it is inspiring to see our students striving to do their very best…way to go Main Street!  Let’s hit that next goal of $30k for the Glow Stick Party…to pledge your support and help raise funds for our student joggers visit this link  (and please share the link with extended family).

Save the Date – Art & Soul:  Please mark your calendars for Friends of Main Street’s annual Art & Soul fundraiser! Taking place on April 24th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Bargetto Winery, our adults-only Spring event features a silent auction and a beautiful art show with pieces from every classroom. Ticket sales open soon!

Yearbook Photo Submissions Needed:  The yearbook team is looking for photos! From the Halloween parade to Movies on the Blacktop - and everything in between - we’d love submissions that capture life at Main Street. Classroom moments, field trips, special events... send them our way!

Attention parents with students that will be attending New Brighton Middle School in the future! Open House for NBMS is March 26th, 6:00-7:30 PM, it’ll be a chance to look at classrooms, student work and there will be a student art show in the PAC.

Our attendance rate for March 2025 was 95.2%, and I am hoping that we can continue to increase attendance rates, and with your help I believe we can do it!

Although state (CAASPP) testing doesn’t begin for 3rd and 4th grade until April 20th, and March 30th for 5th grade students, I am linking the schedule here so that you are aware of when your student will be testing in either English Language Arts (ELA) or math.  Science testing is only for 5th grade students.  Students take the tests in the morning

I am linking the practice tests as they will give your 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student an opportunity to better prepare for the CAASPP tests.

A reminder that students walking, skating or riding to school must enter the school and be in the supervised areas.  Students are not permitted to loiter outside of the supervised areas (playstructures and blacktop).

If your student wears a smart watch, to help minimize distractions and keep students focused on learning, we ask that any smart watches be placed on school mode (or do not disturb) while students are on campus.  During the school day, smart watches should not be used for texting, calling, gaming, or accessing apps. If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the school office and we will make sure your message gets to them.  Your help with maintaining a focused and respectful learning environment for all students is appreciated.

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.  

Important Dates:  

4/6 - 4/10: Spring Break, no school for students

4/13/26: Professional Development day, no school for students

4/14/26: Student return to school

Aquí hay un Actualización de Heron Hustle de FOMS:

El evento del viernes fue un gran éxito: ¡mucha camaradería y entusiasmo! FOMS está increíblemente orgulloso de nuestra comunidad escolar. Hasta ahora, Hemos recaudado 24.348 dólares.  ¡Increíble! Pero aún no hemos terminado: la recaudación de fondos continúa abierta hasta este viernes, y estamos muy cerca de alcanzar nuestro próximo hito.  Si llegamos a $30,000  nuestra escuela ofrecerá una fiesta de baile fluorescente gratuita (¡un gran éxito el año pasado!) ¡Sigamos con buen ritmo!

Un enorme agradecimiento a nuestros Amigos de Main Street y a todas las familias que asistieron al Heron Hustle, y a todos nuestros estudiantes por su esfuerzo. Esta es una de mis recaudaciones de fondos favoritas, y es inspirador ver a nuestros estudiantes esforzándose al máximo... ¡Bien hecho, Main Street! Reserva la fecha – Arte y Alma:¡Apunten en sus calendarios la gala benéfica anual Art & Soul de Friends of Main Street! El evento tendrá lugar el 24 de abril de 16:30 a 19:30 en la bodega Bargetto. Este evento primaveral, exclusivo para adultos, incluye una subasta silenciosa y una hermosa exposición de arte con obras de todas las aulas. ¡La venta de entradas comenzará pronto!

Se necesitan fotografías para el anuario:  El equipo del anuario está buscando fotos.  Desde el desfile de Halloween hasta las proyecciones de películas al aire libre, y todo lo demás, nos encantaría recibir fotos que capturen la vida en Main Street. Momentos en el aula, excursiones, eventos especiales...¡Envíen los hacia nosotros!

¡Atención padres de alumnos que asistirán a la escuela secundaria New Brighton en el futuro!La jornada de puertas abiertas de NBMS tendrá lugar el 26 de marzo, de 18:00 a 19:30 horas. Será una oportunidad para ver las aulas, los trabajos de los alumnos y habrá una exposición de arte estudiantil en el PAC.

Nuestra tasa de asistencia en marzo de 2025 fue del 95,2%, y espero que podamos seguir aumentando las tasas de asistencia, ¡y con vuestra ayuda creo que podemos lograrlo!

Aunque las pruebas estatales (CAASPP) no comienzan para los alumnos de 3.º y 4.º grado hasta el 20 de abril, y para los de 5.º grado hasta el 30 de marzo, adjunto el calendario aquí para que usted sepa cuándo su hijo/a realizará la prueba de Lengua y Literatura Inglesa (ELA) o de matemáticas. La prueba de ciencias es solo para alumnos de 5.º grado. Los alumnos realizan las pruebas por la mañana.

Estoy enlazando el exámenes de práctica mientras ellos le brindarán a su hijo/a de 3.º, 4.º o 5.º grado la oportunidad de prepararse mejor para las pruebas CAASPP.

Recordamos que los estudiantes que vayan caminando, patinando o en bicicleta a la escuela deben entrar al recinto escolar y permanecer en las áreas supervisadas. No está permitido que los estudiantes merodeen fuera de las áreas supervisadas (estructuras de juego y cancha pavimentada).

Si su hijo/a usa un reloj inteligente, para minimizar las distracciones y mantenerlo/a concentrado/a en el aprendizaje, le pedimos que lo ponga en modo escolar (o no molestar) mientras esté en el campus. Durante la jornada escolar, no se debe usar el reloj inteligente para enviar mensajes de texto, hacer llamadas, jugar o acceder a aplicaciones. Si necesita comunicarse con su hijo/a durante la jornada escolar, comuníquese con la secretaría del colegio y nos aseguraremos de que su mensaje le llegue. Agradecemos su colaboración para mantener un ambiente de aprendizaje respetuoso y centrado para todos los estudiantes.

Gracias por enviar a sus estudiantes a nuestra escuela diariamente, ¡cuanto más tiempo esté su hijo en la escuela, más aprenderá! Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

Fechas importantes:

4/6 - 4/10: Vacaciones de primavera, no hay clases para los estudiantes.

13/4/26: Día de desarrollo profesional, no hay clases para los estudiantes.

14/4/26: Los estudiantes regresan a la escuela.
