Hello Main Street Families,

I hope you and your family were able to enjoy a memorable Spring Break!  Can you believe we are on the home stretch and there are only seven weeks left in this school year!

We are looking forward to seeing all our students tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14th.

On the campus this week we have the Student Art Show in the MU room, curated by art instructor Mandi Lopez. The student work will be on display on Wednesday and Thursday. 3:30pm to 6:30pm in the MU! Come see what they've been working on since the last art show.

Attendance at Main Street for March was 96.8%, and this is an increase of 1.6% compared to March 2025! Thanks to all families who are playing their part in helping to improve our attendance.  Attendance for April 2025  was 95.2%...will your child’s attendance help us to improve on this number?  Thank you!

Save the Date – Art & Soul:  Please mark your calendars for Friends of Main Street’s annual Art & Soul fundraiser! Taking place on April 24th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Bargetto Winery, our adults-only Spring event features a silent auction and a beautiful art show with pieces from every classroom. Yearbook Photo Submissions Needed:  The yearbook team is looking for photos! From the Halloween parade to Movies on the Blacktop - and everything in between - we’d love submissions that capture life at Main Street. Classroom moments, field trips, special events... send them our way!

To parents of our fifth grade students, you are cordially invited to our Main Street Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which is  taking place on Thursday, May 28th, from 9:00-10:00 AM here at Main Street School.

As we move closer to the end of the year, I respectfully ask that families refrain from requesting a specific teacher for next year.  I do welcome input on your child's educational needs, and you can email that to me (cbroadhurst@suesd.org).  If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form.

State (CAASPP) testing begins for 3rd and 4th grade on April 20th (and resumes for 5th grade on this date), and I am linking the schedule here so that you are aware of when your student will be testing in either English Language Arts (ELA) or math.  Science testing is only for 5th grade students. 

I am linking the practice tests as they will give your 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student an opportunity to better prepare for the CAASPP tests.

A reminder that students walking, skating or riding to school must enter the school and be in the supervised areas.  Students are not permitted to loiter outside of the supervised areas (playstructures and blacktop).

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

¡Espero que tú y tu familia hayan podido disfrutar de unas vacaciones de primavera inolvidables! ¡No te lo puedes creer, ya estamos en la recta final y solo quedan siete semanas para que termine el curso escolar!

Esperamos ver a todos nuestros estudiantes mañana, martes 14 de abril.

Esta semana en el campus tenemos la Exposición de arte estudiantil en la sala MU, bajo la curaduría de la instructora de arte Mandi Lopez. Las obras de los estudiantes estarán expuestas el miércoles y el jueves de 15:30 a 18:30 en la MU. ¡Vengan a ver en qué han estado trabajando desde la última exposición!

La asistencia a Main Street en marzo fue del 96,8%, y esto supone un aumento del 1,6% en comparación con marzo de 2025! Gracias a todas las familias que están contribuyendo a mejorar nuestra asistencia. Reserva la fecha – Arte y Alma:¡Apunta la fecha en tu calendario para la gala benéfica anual Art & Soul de Friends of Main Street! El evento tendrá lugar el 24 de abril de 16:30 a 19:30 en la bodega Bargetto. Este evento primaveral, exclusivo para adultos, incluye una subasta silenciosa y una hermosa exposición de arte con obras de todas las aulas. ¡Las entradas ya están a la venta! Se necesitan fotografías para el anuario: El equipo del anuario está buscando fotos. Desde el desfile de Halloween hasta las proyecciones de películas al aire libre, y todo lo demás, nos encantaría recibir fotos que capturen la vida en Main Street. Momentos en el aula, excursiones, eventos especiales...¡Envíen los hacia nosotros!

Estimados padres de alumnos de quinto grado, les invitamos cordialmente a nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación de Quinto Grado de Main Street, que tendrá lugar el jueves 28 de mayo, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana, aquí en la Escuela Main Street.

A medida que nos acercamos al final del año, les pido respetuosamente a las familias que se abstengan de solicitar un maestro específico para el próximo año. Agradezco sus comentarios sobre las necesidades educativas de su hijo, y pueden enviármelos por correo electrónico (cbroadhurst@suesd.org). Si su estudiante no asistirá a Main Street el próximo año (y creemos que sí lo hará), por favor avise a la oficina y complete también este formulario forma.

Las pruebas estatales (CAASPP) para 3.º y 4.º grado comienzan el 20 de abril (y se reanudan para 5.º grado en esta fecha), y adjunto el calendario aquí para que usted sepa cuándo su hijo/a realizará la prueba de Lengua y Literatura Inglesa (ELA) o de matemáticas. La prueba de ciencias es solo para alumnos de quinto grado.

Estoy enlazando los exámenes de práctica mientras ellos le brindarán a su hijo/a de 3.º, 4.º o 5.º grado la oportunidad de prepararse mejor para las pruebas CAASPP.

Recordamos que los estudiantes que vayan caminando, patinando o en bicicleta a la escuela deben entrar al recinto escolar y permanecer en las áreas supervisadas. No está permitido que los estudiantes merodeen fuera de las áreas supervisadas (estructuras de juego y cancha pavimentada).

Gracias por enviar a sus estudiantes a nuestra escuela diariamente, ¡cuanto más tiempo esté su hijo en la escuela, más aprenderá! Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

13/4/26: Día de desarrollo profesional, no hay clases para los estudiantes.

14/4/26: Los estudiantes regresan a la escuela.

14/4-16/26: Exposición de arte estudiantil, de 15:30 a 18:30.

13/05/26: Jornada de puertas abiertas en la calle principal

14/05/26: Producción de “Annie” en Main Street en NBMS

25/5/26: Día de los Caídos, no hay clases.

28/5/26: Ceremonia de graduación de quinto grado, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana.

28/5/26: Último día de clases del año escolar 2025/26
