Hello Main Street Families,
This coming week, Main Street School is participating in the Great Kindness Challenge! We’ll start tomorrow by ‘Teaming Up for Kindness’ and wearing your favorite team jersey or sports wear. Here is a checklist of kind acts in English and in Spanish. As you send your child off to school this week, please help by reminding them to be kind to all they encounter!
Tomorrow evening (Monday, January 26th), from 6:00-7:30 PM, New Brighton Middle School will be hosting an opportunity for parents to learn more about setting limits and fostering a healthy relationship with screen time. The Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) is presenting, please see the flier below for more information.
TheFOMS Read-A-Thon concluded this past Friday and raised $9,898 for our school; incredible work and thank you to our student readers and family supporters!! Prizes will be distributed to students in the coming days.
Friends Of Main Street’s Community Meeting is happening this Tuesday, January 27th, at 6:30 PM in the school library. All are welcome to join and hear what’s going on with our school’s parent volunteer organization. A Zoom link will be available on Tuesday for those wishing to attend remotely.
Find out what’s happening in our district by attending SUESD’s annual Community Voice Gathering on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the New Brighton Middle School PAC. Childcare, Spanish interpretation, and light refreshments will be provided. View the video invitation and the event flyer for more information.
Parent conferences will be held during the week of February 2-6. Though not all families will be contacted for a conference, any family that would like to have a conference can request one; simply contact your child’s teacher. During conference week students leave at the following times:
TK/K - 11:30 AM 1st/2nd/3rd - 11:50 AM 4th/5th - 12:00 noon
Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn! If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here. Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

La próxima semana, la escuela Main Street participará en el Gran desafío de la bondad¡ comenzaremos mañana con "Uniéndonos por la Amabilidad" y usando la camiseta de tu equipo o ropa deportiva favorita. Aquí tienes una lista de acciones de amabilidad en Inglés y en Español. Al enviar a su hijo a la escuela esta semana, ¡ayúdalo recordando que sea amable con todas las personas que conozca!
Mañana por la noche (lunes 26 de enero), de 6:00 a 7:30 pm, New Brighton Middle School organizará una oportunidad para que los padres aprendan más sobre cómo establecer límites y fomentar una relación saludable con el tiempo frente a la pantalla. El Maratón de Lectura de FOMS concluyó el viernes pasado y recaudó $9,898 para nuestra escuela. ¡Un trabajo increíble y gracias a nuestros estudiantes lectores y familias que nos apoyan! Los premios se entregarán a los estudiantes en los próximos días.
La reunión comunitaria de Amigos de Main Street se llevará a cabo este martes 27 de enero a las 18:30 en la biblioteca escolar. Todos están invitados a unirse y a enterarse de las novedades de la organización de padres voluntarios de nuestra escuela. El martes habrá un enlace de Zoom disponible para quienes deseen asistir a distancia.
Entérese de lo que está sucediendo en nuestro distrito asistiendo a la Reunión Anual de Voz Comunitaria de SUESD el miércoles 28 de enero de 2026 a las 6:30 pm. en el PAC de la Escuela Intermedia New Brighton. Se ofrecerá cuidado de niños, interpretación al español y refrigerios. Vea la invitación en video y el folleto del evento para más información.
Las conferencias de padres se llevarán a cabo durante la semana del 2 al 6 de febrero. Aunque no se contactará a todas las familias para una conferencia, cualquier familia que desee asistir puede solicitarla; simplemente comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo. Durante la semana de conferencias los estudiantes salen en los siguientes horarios:
TK/K - 11:30 AM 1º/2º/3º - 11:50 AM 4º/5º - 12:00 mediodía
Gracias por enviarnos a sus alumnos a diario. Cuanto más tiempo asista su hijo a la escuela, más aprenderá.Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí. Los estudiantes que completan el estudio independiente a corto plazo reciben crédito de asistencia.
