Main St Parent Newsletter 11/2/25

Hello Main Street Families,

It was great to see many of you on campus last Friday, as we gathered on the blacktop to see our students parading in their Halloween costumes.  Thank you for your support and involvement.

Our Friends of Main Street (FOMS), parent support group is organizing another chance for us to gather as a community by organizing a “Forever Young” Prom! This will take place on Saturday, November 15, at New Brighton Middle School, from 6:00-10:00 PM.  Visit this link to purchase tickets.

The field here at Main Street will be resurfaced in the future. If you want to see what a new field looks like, the New Brighton Middle School field will be officially opened on  November 6, at 3:30 PM.

School will not be in session on Tuesday, November 11th, in support of Veterans Day.

On Friday, November 14th, we will be celebrating Ruby Bridges Day by marching from the church parking lot (on the corner of Main Street and Soquel) down Main Street to our school.  We’ll gather at 7:45 AM and leave from the parking lot at 8:00AM.

At SUESD, we believe student mental health is the foundation for learning. Each of our schools has caring counselors who provide classroom lessons, brief check-ins, crisis support, and parent/staff consultation.

Through the state’s Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), we can now be reimbursed for these services—at no cost to families. Billing will never affect copays, deductibles, or plan limits, and students will continue to receive the same support whether or not they have insurance. For more information on included billable services, please see this flyer.

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.  

Thank you for being courteous and safe drivers in our parking lot.  I have been notified that some drivers heading to Main Street in the morning via Center Street are making unsafe right turns into Center Street from the left lane on Soquel Avenue.  If you drive this route to school, please do so safely.

Hola familias de Main Street,

Fue genial ver a todos los que estuvieron en el campus el viernes pasado, cuando nos reunimos en el patio para ver a nuestros estudiantes desfilar con sus disfraces de Halloween. Gracias por su apoyo y participación.

Nuestro grupo de apoyo para padres, Amigos de Main Street (FOMS), está organizando una nueva oportunidad para que nos reunamos como comunidad: ¡un baile de graduación "Siempre Jóvenes"! Se llevará a cabo el sábado 15 de noviembre en la escuela secundaria New Brighton, de 6:00 a 10:00 PM. Visita este enlace para comprar boletos.

El campo de Main Street será repavimentado en el futuro. Si quieres ver cómo luce un campo nuevo, el Campo de la escuela secundaria New Brighton Se inaugurará oficialmente el 6 de noviembre a las 3:30 horas.

No habrá clases el martes 11 de noviembre, en conmemoración del Día de los Veteranos.

El viernes 14 de noviembre celebraremos el Día de Ruby Bridges con una marcha desde el estacionamiento de la iglesia (en la esquina de Main Street y Soquel) hasta nuestra escuela, a lo largo de Main Street. Nos reuniremos a las 7:45 AM  y partiremos del estacionamiento a las 8:00 AM.

En SUESD, creemos que la salud mental de los estudiantes es la base del aprendizaje. Cada una de nuestras escuelas cuenta con consejeros atentos que brindan clases, breves seguimientos, apoyo en crisis y consultas para padres y personal.

Gracias a la Iniciativa de Salud Mental Infantil y Juvenil (CYBHI) del estado, ahora podemos recibir reembolsos por estos servicios, sin costo alguno para las familias. La facturación no afectará los copagos, deducibles ni límites del plan, y los estudiantes seguirán recibiendo el mismo apoyo, tengan o no seguro médico. Gracias por enviar a sus hijos con nosotros diariamente; ¡cuanto más tiempo estén en la escuela, más aprenderán!Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito de asistencia.

Gracias por conducir con cortesía y precaución en nuestro estacionamiento. Me han informado que algunos conductores que se dirigen a Main Street por la mañana a través de Center Street están realizando giros a la derecha peligrosos desde el carril izquierdo de Soquel Avenue hacía Center Street. Si conduce por esta ruta para ir a la escuela, por favor, hágalo con precaución.
