Hello Main Street Parents!

I hope that you were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, and welcome to December!

The Main Street Book Fair will take place from December 2- 6th, in the multi use room.  On Thursday, December 5th, there will be a Family Night at the book fair,  from 6:00-7:30 PM.  This will be a great opportunity to purchase books that you might need for the upcoming gifting season, and also a chance to hear some read aloud from me (Principal Broadhurst).  Are you interested in joining me and reading out loud at the Family Night?  If you are, send me an email at cbroadhurst@suesd.org it would be great to get some family members to participate, and it’s very rewarding to read a book out loud to our students.

The Annual Second Harvest Food Drive is up and running and if you’d like to donate there is more information here.  If you would like to donate non perishable food items, please bring them to school, we do have a barrel outside of the office.

We are looking for someone to join our recess and lunch supervision team.  This is a paid position, and if this is something that you are interested in, please call me at the school office (831 424 5650).

So far this school year we have improved our overall attendance rate and I thank each family for your part in increasing the attendance rate.  Most families have also been using the short term independent study option that has also helped improve our attendance.  A reminder that you can access the short term independent study option by here.

¡Hola Familias de Main Street!

Espero que hayas podido disfrutar de un maravilloso Día de Acción de Gracias con tu familia y ¡bienvenidos a diciembre!

La Feria del Libro de la Calle Principal se llevará a cabo del 2 al 6 de diciembre, en el salón de usos múltiples.  El jueves 5 de diciembre habrá una Noche Familiar en la feria del libro, de 6:00 a 7:30 p.m.  Esta será una gran oportunidad para comprar libros que pueda necesitar para la próxima temporada de regalos, y también una oportunidad para escuchar algunas lecturas en voz alta de mi parte (Directora Broadhurst).  ¿Estás interesado en unirte a mí y leer en voz alta? en la familia ¿Noche?  Si es así, envíame un correo electrónico a croadhurst@suesd.org Sería fantástico que algunos miembros de la familia participaran y es muy gratificante leer un libro en voz alta a nuestros estudiantes.

La colecta anual de alimentos de la Segunda Cosecha está en marcha y si desea donar, hay más información. aquí.  Si desea donar alimentos no perecederos, tráigalos a la escuela, tenemos un barril afuera de la oficina.

Estamos buscando a alguien para unirse a nuestro equipo de supervisión del recreo y el almuerzo.  Este es un puesto remunerado, y si es algo que le interesa, llámeme a la oficina de la escuela (831 424 5650).

En lo que va del año escolar hemos mejorado nuestro índice de asistencia general y agradezco a cada familia por su participación en aumentar el índice de asistencia.  La mayoría de las familias también han estado utilizando la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo que también ha ayudado a mejorar nuestra asistencia.  Un recordatorio de que puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.
