Main St Parent Newsletter 4/26/26

Hello Main Street Families,

A heartfelt thank you to the  Friends of Main Street (FOMS) for their organization of the Art and Soul Event, held last Friday.  This was another wonderful Main Street gathering, thanks to all families that were able to attend….your support is greatly appreciated.

We’ll have another chance to gather as a community when FOMS hosts the Glowstick Party (reward for raising $30K+ with the Heron Hustle), the date is May 8th, starting at 6:00 PM, location not yet confirmed.

Main Street Open House will be held on May 13th, from 6:00-7:00 PM.  That’s always a great opportunity to get families on campus and I hope we see you here.

Yearbook Photo Submissions Needed:  The yearbook team is looking for photos! From the Halloween parade to Movies on the Blacktop - and everything in between - we’d love submissions that capture life at Main Street. Classroom moments, field trips, special events... send them our way!

Attendance for April 2025  was 95.2%, and I’m happy to report that for the April school days this year, overall attendance has been 95.88%!  We have just four more days of this month…thank you for your help!

To parents of our fifth grade students, you are cordially invited to our Main Street Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which is  taking place on Thursday, May 28th, from 9:00-10:00 AM here at Main Street School.

As we move closer to the end of the year, I respectfully ask that families refrain from requesting a specific teacher for next year.  I do welcome input on your child's educational needs, and you can email that to me (cbroadhurst@suesd.org).  If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form.

State (CAASPP) testing continues for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students this week, and I am linking the schedule here so that you are aware of when your student will be testing.  Science testing is only for 5th grade students. 

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

Hola familias de Main Street,

Un sincero agradecimiento a Friends of Main Street (FOMS) por la organización del evento Art and Soul, celebrado el viernes pasado. Fue otro maravilloso encuentro en Main Street, gracias a todas las familias que pudieron asistir… su apoyo es muy apreciado.

Tendremos otra oportunidad de reunirnos como comunidad cuando FOMS organice la Fiesta de las Barras Luminosas (recompensa por recaudar más de 30.000 dólares con la iniciativa Heron Hustle). La fecha es el 8 de mayo, a partir de las 18:00 horas; la ubicación aún no está confirmada.

Main Street Open House se celebrará el 13 de mayo, de 18:00 a 19:00. Siempre es una gran oportunidad para que las familias visiten el campus y espero contar con su presencia.

Se necesitan fotografías para el anuario: El equipo del anuario está buscando fotos.Desde el desfile de Halloween hasta las proyecciones de películas al aire libre, y todo lo demás, nos encantaría recibir fotos que capturen la vida en Main Street. Momentos en el aula, excursiones, eventos especiales...¡Envíen los hacia nosotros!

La asistencia en abril de 2025 fue del 95,2%, y me complace informar que, durante los días lectivos de abril de este año, la asistencia general ha sido del 95,88%. ¡Solo nos quedan cuatro días de este mes! ¡Gracias por su colaboración!

Estimados padres de alumnos de quinto grado, les invitamos cordialmente a nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación de Quinto Grado de Main Street, que tendrá lugar el jueves 28 de mayo, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana, aquí en la Escuela Main Street.

A medida que nos acercamos al final del año, les pido respetuosamente a las familias que se abstengan de solicitar un maestro específico para el próximo año. Agradezco sus comentarios sobre las necesidades educativas de su hijo, y pueden enviármelos por correo electrónico (cbroadhurst@suesd.org). Si su estudiante no asistirá a Main Street el próximo año (y creemos que sí lo hará), por favor avise a la oficina y complete también esta forma.

Las pruebas estatales (CAASPP) continúan esta semana para los estudiantes de 3.º, 4.º y 5.º grado, y adjunto el calendario aquí para que usted sepa cuándo su hijo/a realizará la prueba. La prueba de ciencias es solo para alumnos de 5.º grado.

Gracias por enviar a sus estudiantes a nuestra escuela diariamente, ¡cuanto más tiempo esté su hijo en la escuela, más aprenderá! SiSi su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

28/05/26: Último día de clases del año escolar 2025/26
