Main St Parent Newsletter 5/10/26

Hello Main Street Families,

More kudos to the Friends of Main Street (FOMS) for organizing the Glowstick Party last Friday!  There were many families in attendance and a large number of our students were present, having fun and making wonderful memories!

Thanks FOMS also for all the special treats to celebrate Teacher and Staff Appreciation week!  Everything was appreciated, and I will be preserving my door decoration and reconstructing it at home!

The coming week we have the Main Street Open House, on May 13th, from 6:00-7:00 PM.  That’s always a great opportunity to get families on campus and I hope we see you here.

May 11th-15th are minimum days for TK/K.  All TK/K students arrive at 8:15 AM and leave at 11:30 AM.  May 26-27 are restructured days for TK/K, all students arrive at 8:15 AM and leave at 1:15 PM.

On Friday, May 22 we will be recognizing all the volunteers that have helped this year by inviting them to the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast starting at 8:15 AM, in the MU room here on campus.  If you have volunteered in a classroom this year and plan on attending, please respond to this invitation.

Yearbook Photo Submissions Needed:  The yearbook team is looking for photos! From the Halloween parade to Movies on the Blacktop - and everything in between - we’d love submissions that capture life at Main Street. Classroom moments, field trips, special events... send them our way!

If you have a fifth grade student, you are cordially invited to our Main Street Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which is  taking place on Thursday, May 28th, from 9:00-10:00 AM here at Main Street School.

If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form.

If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.  

Important Dates:

5/14/26: Bike, skate, roll or walk to School Day

5/14/26: Main Street production of “Annie” at NBMS, 6:00-8:00 PM

5/22/26: Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, MU room, 8:15-9:15 AM

5/28/26: Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, 9:00-10:00 AM.

5/28/26: Last school day for the 2025/26 school year

Hola familias de Main Street,

¡Muchas felicidades a Friends of Main Street (FOMS) por organizar la fiesta de pulseras luminosas el viernes pasado! Asistieron muchas familias y un gran número de nuestros estudiantes, quienes se divirtieron y crearon recuerdos maravillosos.

¡Gracias también a FOMS por todos los detalles especiales para celebrar la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal! Agradezco todo, y conservaré la decoración de mi puerta para recrearla en casa.

La próxima semana, el 13 de mayo, de 18:00 a 19:00, tendremos la Jornada de Puertas Abiertas en Main Street. Siempre es una excelente oportunidad para que las familias visiten el campus, y espero verlos allí.

Del 11 al 15 de mayo son días de jornada reducida para TK/K. Todos los alumnos de TK/K llegan a las 8:15 y salen a las 11:30. Del 26 al 27 de mayo, el horario para TK/K es diferente: todos los alumnos llegan a las 8:15 y salen a la 1:15.

El viernes 22 de mayo reconoceremos a todos los voluntarios que han ayudado este año invitándolos al Desayuno de Agradecimiento a los Voluntarios que comenzará a las 8:15.AM, en la sala MU aquí en el campus. Si ha sido voluntario en un aula este año y planea asistir, responda a esta invitación.

Se necesitan fotografías para el anuario: El equipo del anuario está buscando fotos.Desde el desfile de Halloween hasta las proyecciones de películas al aire libre, y todo lo demás, nos encantaría recibir fotos que capturen la vida en Main Street. Momentos en el aula, excursiones, eventos especiales...¡Envíen los hacia nosotros!

Si tienes un estudiante de quinto grado, estás cordialmente invitado a nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación de Quinto Grado de Main Street, que tendrá lugar el jueves 28 de mayo, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana, aquí en la Escuela Main Street.

Si su estudiante no asistirá a Main Street el próximo año (y creemos que sí lo hará), por favor avise a la oficina y complete también esta forma.

Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

Fechas importantes:

13/05/26: Jornada de puertas abiertas en la calle principal, de 18:00 a 19:00.

14/05/26: Día de ir a la escuela en bicicleta, patines, patineta o a pie

14/05/26: Representación de “Annie” en Main Street, en NBMS, de 18:00 a 20:00.

22/5/26: Desayuno de agradecimiento a los voluntarios, sala MU, de 8:15 a 9:15 a. m.

25/5/26: Día de los Caídos, no hay clases.

28/5/26: Ceremonia de graduación de quinto grado, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana.

28/5/26: Último día de clases del año escolar 2025/26
