Main St Parent Newsletter 5/3/26

Hello Main Street Families,

This coming Friday, May 8th, FOMS hosts the Glowstick Party (reward for raising $30K+ with the Heron Hustle), this event is happening at the Soquel High Campus in the multi use room, from 5:00-7:00 PM.  Our students had so much fun at this event last year, and we look forward to another night of magical memories!

Main Street Open House will be held on May 13th, from 6:00-7:00 PM.  That’s always a great opportunity to get families on campus and I hope we see you here.

This upcoming week (May 4th-8th) is Teacher and Staff Appreciation week, thank you to FOMS and all our families for supporting our staff.  This week is also the last week that Homework Club is taking place.

May 11th-15th are minimum days for TK/K.  All TK/K students arrive at 8:15 AM and leave at 11:30 AM.  May 26-28 are restructured days for TK/K, all students arrive at 8:15 AM and leave at 1:15 PM.

Yearbook Photo Submissions Needed:  The yearbook team is looking for photos! From the Halloween parade to Movies on the Blacktop - and everything in between - we’d love submissions that capture life at Main Street. Classroom moments, field trips, special events... send them our way!

Attendance for April 2025 was 95.2%, and I’m happy to report that for April this year, overall attendance has been 95.62%!  Thank you to all families for helping us to improve attendance!

If you have a fifth grade student, you are cordially invited to our Main Street Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which is  taking place on Thursday, May 28th, from 9:00-10:00 AM here at Main Street School.

If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form.

Scheduled State (CAASPP) testing is over for this year, apart from make ups for some students.  We will be completing the final iReady diagnostic tests in reading and math during the next week.

If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

Hola familias de Main Street,

Este viernes 8 de mayo, FOMS organiza la Fiesta de las Barras Luminosas (premio por recaudar más de $30,000 con la iniciativa Heron Hustle). El evento tendrá lugar en el salón de usos múltiples del campus de Soquel High, de 5:00 pm a 7:00 pm. Nuestros estudiantes se divirtieron muchísimo en este evento el año pasado, ¡y esperamos otra noche llena de recuerdos inolvidables!

La jornada de puertas abiertas de Main Street se celebrará el 13 de mayo, de 18:00 a 19:00. Siempre es una gran oportunidad para que las familias visiten el campus y espero contar con su presencia.

La próxima semana (del 4 al 8 de mayo) es la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal. Gracias a FOMS y a todas nuestras familias por su apoyo. Esta semana también es la última del Club de Tareas.

Del 11 al 15 de mayo son días de jornada reducida para TK/K. Todos los alumnos de TK/K llegan a las 8:15 y salen a las 11:30. Del 26 al 28 de mayo son días con horario modificado para TK/K; todos los alumnos llegan a las 8:15 y salen a la 1:15.

Se necesitan fotografías para el anuario: El equipo del anuario está buscando fotos. Desde el desfile de Halloween hasta las proyecciones de películas al aire libre, y todo lo demás, nos encantaría recibir fotos que capturen la vida en Main Street. Momentos en el aula, excursiones, eventos especiales...¡Envíen los hacia nosotros!

La asistencia en abril de 2025 fue del 95,2%, y me complace informar que en abril de este año la asistencia general ha sido del 95,62%. ¡Gracias a todas las familias por ayudarnos a mejorar la asistencia!

Si tienes un estudiante de quinto grado, estás cordialmente invitado a nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación de Quinto Grado de Main Street, que tendrá lugar el jueves 28 de mayo, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana, aquí en la Escuela Main Street.

Si su estudiante no asistirá a Main Street el próximo año (y creemos que sí lo hará), por favor avise a la oficina y complete también esta forma.

Las pruebas estatales programadas (CAASPP) han finalizado este año, a excepción de las recuperaciones para algunos estudiantes. La próxima semana completaremos las pruebas de diagnóstico finales de iReady en lectura y matemáticas.

Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí.  Los estudiantes que completen el estudio independiente de corta duración recibirán crédito por asistencia.

5/8/26: Fiesta de baile con barras luminosas, instituto Soquel, de 17:00 a 19:00.

13/05/26: Jornada de puertas abiertas en la calle principal, de 18:00 a 19:00.

14/05/26: Representación de “Annie” en Main Street, en NBMS, de 18:00 a 20:00.

25/5/26: Día de los Caídos, no hay clases.

28/5/26: Ceremonia de graduación de quinto grado, de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana.

28/5/26: Último día de clases del año escolar 2025/26
