Hello Main Street Families,

This coming Wednesday, February 23rd is a chance to Dine for Dollars at the 41st Avenue location of Pizza My Heart. From 4:00-9:00 PM, funds from your order will be donated to FOMS.  Valid on in person orders and phone in orders (not valid with food delivery apps).  Please mention Friends of Main Street when ordering.

Recently Main Street families were provided with cards to the Grocery Outlet on 41st Avenue. When families use the card, 5% of the money spent is donated to our school, and we just received a check for $140!  Thank you to families who are utilizing this store and helping to raise funds for our school.

Clear your calendars for Friday, March 20th, when the Heron Hustle (Jog A Thon) takes place at the Soquel High Track!  This was a phenomenal success last year and we are very much looking forward to this year’s edition.  More details will come in the following weeks.

Thank you to families for not using the Sevilla Drive and Via Gatos neighborhood to bring students to school through the side gate (by room 11).  Please use the main entrance and parking lot to bring your students to school.  I know the parking lot can be filled with vehicles during drop off and especially at pick up times, and your patience and use of this area for drop-off and pick-up is appreciated.

A reminder that students walking, skating or riding to school must enter the school and be in the supervised areas.  Students are not permitted to loiter outside of the supervised areas (playstructures and blacktop).

Thanks for sending your student to school, as we strive to improve on the attendance for the month of February (last year was 93.4%).  Over the last two weeks, 165 of our students attended every day!  Will your child’s attendance help us to improve on that?

Another opportunity to see the Warriors is through the Santa Cruz County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) who are partnering with the Warriors and holding a disability awareness night on March 27th. See this link for more information.

Thank you for sending your students to us on a daily basis, the more your child is in school, the more they will learn!  If your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option here.  Students who complete the short term independent study receive attendance credit.

Este próximo miércoles 23 de febrero, puedes disfrutar de una cena con descuento en Pizza My Heart en la Avenida 41. De 16:00 a 21:00, el dinero de tu pedido se donará a FOMS. Válido para pedidos en persona y por teléfono (no válido para apps de entrega a domicilio). Por favor, menciona a Friends of Main Street al hacer tu pedido.

Recientemente, las familias de Main Street recibieron tarjetas para el Grocery Outlet de la Avenida 41. Cuando las familias usan la tarjeta, el 5% del dinero gastado se dona a nuestra escuela, ¡y acabamos de recibir un cheque por $140! Gracias a las familias que utilizan esta tienda y ayudan a recaudar fondos para nuestra escuela.

Agenden sus agendas para el viernes 20 de marzo, cuando se celebre el Heron Hustle (Jog-A-Thon) en la pista de Soquel High. Fue un éxito rotundo el año pasado y estamos muy emocionados por la edición de este año. Les daremos más detalles en las próximas semanas.

Gracias a las familias por no usar la zona de Sevilla Drive y Vía Gatos para traer a sus hijos a la escuela por la puerta lateral (junto al aula 11). Por favor, utilicen la entrada principal y el estacionamiento para traer a sus hijos. Sé que el estacionamiento puede estar lleno de vehículos durante la entrada y, especialmente, durante la salida, y les agradecemos su paciencia y el uso de esta área para la entrada y salida.

Se recuerda que los estudiantes que caminan, patinan o van en bicicleta a la escuela deben ingresar a la escuela y permanecer en las áreas supervisadas. No se permite que los estudiantes merodeen fuera de las áreas supervisadas (zonas de juego y asfalto).

Gracias por enviar a su hijo/a a la escuela. Nos esforzamos por mejorar la asistencia durante febrero (el año pasado fue del 93.4%). ¡En las últimas dos semanas, 165 de nuestros estudiantes asistieron todos los días! ¿La asistencia de su hijo/a nos ayudará a mejorar?

Otra oportunidad de ver a los Warriors es a través del SELPA del condado de Santa Cruz (Área del Plan Local de Educación Especial) que se están asociando con el Warriors y celebrando una noche de concientización sobre la discapacidad el 27 de marzo. Vea este enlace para más información.

Gracias por enviarnos a sus alumnos a diario. Cuanto más tiempo esté su hijo en la escuela, más aprenderá. Si su hijo necesita ausentarse, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo aquí. Los estudiantes que completan el estudio independiente a corto plazo reciben crédito de asistencia.
